The Basic Rules:

Several people put their sex toys away after use and remember to clean them before their next use.  This practice must be 100% avoided. If a sex toy is not cleaned shortly after it’s use, its material can gradually deteriorate and leaving lubricants or bodily fluids, etc. on it for long makes it more difficult to maintain and clean. So, clean your sex toy shortly after it's use!

The second rule concerns the removal of batteries when your sex toy is battery operated. You should always remove them after use and before cleaning, as you don't want them to oxidize and damage your toy's motor, and you shouldn't leave them inside when storing it.

The third & last basic rule, concerns the storage of a sex toy after cleaning. How and with what I’l clean my sex toys?

Having mentioned the three basic rules, you are probably wondering how to clean your sex toys and with what. So below you will find all the ways of cleaning sex toys and the methods that are appropriate for them.

    • Sex Toy Cleaner

The most appropriate method to clean a sex toy is of course the specially designed sex toy cleaners.  A cleaner for sex toys comes in the form of a vaporizer bottle and does not contain alcohol in its composition. It does however have antibacterial composition in its ingredients, which fights odors, fungus and bacteria. All you have to do is just spray all over the toy and leave it for a few minutes. 

After the cleaner has acted on the surface, you can rinse it off with water well enough so that no cleaner is left on it. After rinsing it off, dry it with a towel or some cloth by dabbing it and your toy is ready either for storage or use! 

It is worth noting, that a sex toy cleaner is compatible with all types and materials of construction and as already mentioned, it is the most appropriate method of cleaning.

    •  Soap and water

The easiest way to clean your sex toys is water and soap. After you have of course taken care of removing the batteries, you put it under the tap in running lukewarm or cold water and rinse it off first. Then you add some antibacterial soap (e.g. dettol hand soap works quite well) and clean the toy thoroughly. Then rinse again and dry with some cloth or towel.  It's worth noting that for even better cleaning, you can also use a cotton swab if your toy has ridges or places where "dirt" can stuck,  so you can be 100% sure you cleaned it properly. 

    • Anti-bacterial wipes

Cleaning your sex toy with an antibacterial wipe is the quickest way to get it clean, as all you need to do is wipe it thoroughly with it and then rinse it off with water.However, this way is not the most thorough and is only recommended when the toy comes out from storage and has already been thoroughly cleaned before that.

    • Combination of methods

The combination of methods isour favorite, here at Vibrations.gr because having cleaned our toys in 2 different ways, we are even more carefree and confident about their absolute cleanliness! So you can too combine differents methods like washing with soap and water and using a sex toy cleaner afterwards without any problem.

For example, what you have to do is simply rinse the toy with soap and water in the tap, dry it and then apply the special sex toy cleaner. Once this has taken effect, then you will rinse once more (with water only), dry the toy properly and it will then be ready for storage or use!

* Cleaning masturbators

Because not all sex toys require the same way of cleaning, you will read now how to clean masturbators, which due to their materials and sensitivity, require a different approach. To clean a masturbator you need to turn it inside out (like a sock for example) to be able to clean it properly.  Immediately afterwards, you will spray the inside with a sex toy cleaner, let it sit and then rinse it thoroughly with lukewarm water.
